The catchy theme song captures our attention and I'm sure we have all at one stage found ourselves singing along to the iconic lyrics. Friends is an all time favourite American comedy that was on air for 10 years from 1994-2004. Despite finishing in 2004, it is constantly replayed across the world on Youtube and specifically on 111 Hits in Australia. The show follows the lives and friendships of the six main characters. Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe and Joey. Throughout, key story lines develop between Monica and Chandler and of course Rachel and Ross. Their on and off again romance lasts for all 10 seasons, allowing audiences to develop a strong connection for this pair. Yet, in my opinion, it is the classic humour that makes the show such a success.
My favourite episode from all 10 seasons would definitely have to be "The One Where Joey speaks French". As the title suggests Joey is forced to learn french for an audition and Phoebe offers to teach him. Although the humour is simple, this is what attracts audiences. Watching him struggle with basic french creates a moment which can easily be remembered and re-enacted.
Friends is a successful TV show due to those iconic comic moments. It is a TV show where the whole family can sit down and enjoy!
